Passive electric double bass

The MK Jazz-P passive electric double bass (P) represents the excellence of our solid body production, made with selected woods of the highest quality and with unique sound properties of their kind.

The instrument is built with a maple neck , a basswood or cedar body and a spruce soundboard , a combination designed to offer a rich, deep and well-defined sound.

The body integrates specially designed tone cavities to improve the performance of the passive piezo.

The total length of 145 cm and weight of 6 kg guarantee solidity, stability and comfort during performance.

The instrument can be made divisible at no additional cost, an ideal feature for those who travel frequently, even by plane.

It comes with a padded case for transporting the assembled instrument; a hard case is available as an optional for transporting the instrument completely disassembled with the instrument divided into 2 parts.

Suspended soundboard for full sound

The Jazz-P model features a suspended and tensioned soundboard , a construction solution that gives the sound greater structure, depth and naturalness.
The top supports a bridge with the actual dimensions of an acoustic double bass , ensuring an authentic tonal response and optimal transmission of vibrations.

Simple and precise adjustments

The action adjustment is done via a single screw on the back of the instrument , which allows you to change the angle of inclination of the neck and to precisely adjust the height of the strings according to your playing needs.

Passive, silent, reliable

The passive Jazz-P does not use any active onboard electronics:
No batteries, maximum reliability and total absence of noise or feedback even at high volumes.
Tuning is done in the traditional way using brass tuners , particularly suited to managing the frequencies of the double bass.

Authentic acoustic double bass feel

The removable frames faithfully reproduce the shape of the acoustic double bass and allow the instrument to be played on the retractable tip , integrated inside the body.

• The right frame offers excellent support to the torso, improving stability and comfort
• The left frame is essential for supporting the forearm when performing acute positions

Both are easily disassembled via a single handwheel, allowing for quick setup.
