We don't build simple electric musical instruments.
MK
redefines the double bass.
MK is a company specialized in the design and production of handcrafted electric double basses , created with a clear and non-negotiable goal: to reproduce the authentic sound of the acoustic double bass , without compromise, while adding all the practicality and reliability of an electric instrument.
Each MK double bass is the result of obsessive technical and sound research , nothing is left to chance, from the lutherie to the components, from the design to the timbre response.
The result is an instrument that sounds acoustic , both live and in the studio, and that transports and feels like an electric.
MK design is based on three fundamental pillars:
- Absolute fidelity to the sound of the acoustic double bass
- Drastic reduction in weight and size
- Maximum handling and practicality in transport
For this reason, all MK instruments can be made divisible and stored in hard travel cases , finally making the double bass a truly portable instrument.
Sonically, MK uses high-quality passive piezo pickup and woods chosen by great classical luthiers.
The Studio and Jazz models have been redesigned and hollowed out internally to create tonal cavities ,
further improving the acoustic response of the woods and the naturalness of the sound, while reducing the weight.
The result is a tool:
- lighter
- more manageable
- incredibly faithful in timbre
Each MK electric double bass is built entirely by hand with the possibility of lutherie customization .
The various details are taken care of individually, meeting the needs that the musician wishes to have.
MK does not sell mass-produced instruments.
MK accompanies the musician , offering complete assistance before and after the purchase, with a single objective: to guarantee an instrument that lives up to the most demanding expectations.
MK is the meeting point between acoustic tradition and electric innovation.
Without compromise.
